| PeaceCom, which would eventually transform into PCC Communications Inc., was not the pair's first venture together. In 1997, Boyd and Sarozek collaborated on bringing another communications company, Total Telcom, to the public market after Boyd started the company in the late eighties. The company, in which Boyd served as CEO until 2001, was one of the top performing stocks on the TSE for eighteen months running. It was during his tenure in this company, however, that Boyd came to realize more and more that a critical market was not being served with high-end communication resources. That market was the rural and remote regions of Canada where some of the top producing resource sector companies in the world called home. He left his position from Total and began putting the pieces together to form what would become PeaceCom Ltd., returning to his roots in Grande Prairie in the process. |
